Technical Overview

IPRental.com is very different from traditional proxy services while offering the same important features. We lease our IP’s for a short time duration (max at 13 minutes, and can be lowered to 30 Seconds) and cycle through a limitless number of fresh Class A and B (residential) IPs on an ongoing basis. Our goal is to offer our customers the ultimate in anonymity and security on the Web. Our client application now cleans cookies after each connection, and allows users to manipulate their Timezone and User Agent, which are the only other possible factors besides IP address that could allow websites you visit to identify your specific traffic or identity.

A Closed Proxy Network

Standard proxy services are either open to many various users or utilize a finite set of IP addresses which eventually get blocked by the sites you want to access. IPRental’s approach eliminates both of these shortfalls since all of our IPs come from a private national network we operate with the help of our users, partners, and strategic alliances. Our network is only available to paying members, and is constantly being expanded around the USA and around the World.

OnBoard Proxy

Our Version 2.0 contains the OnBoard Proxy Service which uses proxy chaining to glean IPs from our network. This allows you to utilize our IP serving technology directly from within the applications you run which allow you to specify port settings. Listed below is a description of how this works:

The “Proxy Listener” & the “IPSwitch Listener” swap ports (54420 & 54421) during each IPLease.

Port 54420 -> Connected to IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Port 54421 -> Acting as the IPSwitch Listener

So in the above example: Sending requests over port 54420 will result in a proper Proxy Chain to our parent nodes. However, sending a request to port 54421 would result with IPRental dropping the current connection with IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and cycle IPRental to fetch a fresh IP, thereby leaving the application connected as shown below:

Port 54420 -> Acting as the IPSwitch Listener
Port 54421 -> Connected to IP yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy

In addition, you may specify the ports from within the settings menu, along with adjusting whether the "IPSwitch Listener" is active.

IPRental Tunnel

The IPRental Tunnel is an option designed to allow access to our nodes through a secure 256 bit AES encryption tunnel that uses public/private key cryptography. Furthermore, the keys are updated every hour to provide industry strength encryption.

This service will have limited IP’s available, but specifically designed to evade any man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks which are most common in other countries (outside the USA) where governments (Burma, Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Maldives, Myanmar, North Korea, People's Republic of China, Syria, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam) are enforcing internet censorship.

User Agent Masking

In addition to tracking your IP addresses, many sites track your User Agent which is a combination of factors including the type of browser you are using, your operating system, .NET version, etc…. Our Version 2.0 contains a handy feature which allows you to randomly assign various User Agent's to all your applications system wide, effectively masking your applications identity.

Automatic Cookie Deletion

Version 2.0 allows you the option of deleting your cookies & temporary files with each fresh IP you receive- this is extremely helpful in preventing websites from sniffing your cookie data and related files from previous non-anonymous browsing sessions.

Hot Key Binding (Shortcut Key)

Hot Key binding will allow you to choose a favorite key-combo and bind that to the “Fresh-IP” button/feature; thus allowing you to request a fresh IP via a Hot-Key, rather than a mouse click.
